Gardolene® is our brand for high-performance activating and passivating agents. Our large portfolio of liquid and powder-type technologies contributes to the formation of premium coatings.

With Gardolene®, we offer a wide range of ultra-efficient technologies. Our products are available in liquid form and as powders and are excellently suited for treating substrates made from steel, zinc, aluminum and their alloys.


Activation with Gardolene® V and Gardolene® ZL

In most pretreatment processes, activation is used prior to phosphating. Activation allows for the formation of finely crystalline zinc-phosphate layers.Our activating agents contribute to generate finely crystalline layers and shortening the time required to obtain a uniform, coherent coating during the treatment with phosphating solutions.


Passivation with Gardolene® D

After zinc-phosphating, another protective process in the form of a passivation can be applied to the metallic parts. Our passivating agents Gardolene® D enhance corrosion protection and contribute to an excellent adhesive substrate for downstream process steps, like for example painting. Chrome-free technologies on the basis of zirconium or titanium fluoride are available.
