On December 14 2016, BASF has closed the transaction to acquire Albemarle’s global surface treatment business, Chemetall. Chemetall is now a global business unit of the Coatings division of BASF.
The Coatings Division of the BASF Group develops, produces and markets a high-quality range of innovative automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinishes and industrial coatings as well as decorative paints. BASF Coatings creates advanced performance solutions and drives performance, design and new applications to meet their partners’ needs all over the world.
